23 February 2014 at 2202 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in British Columbia, Canada IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported one individual suffering from a broken arm following a snowmobile accident. Two helicopters and an ambulance were utilized in locating and transporting the party to a nearby hospital for treatment.
