06 April 2015 at 1055 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Cairngorms National Park, Scotland.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported an individual suffering from a severe asthma attack while backpacking.  The individual was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital where they received treatment for their condition.
