04 May 2015 at 0701 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Alpine County, California.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported an 18 year old male who was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail when he became lost and run out of water.  The male was transported by helicopter to a secure location where he was treated for minor scrapes and given provisions until he could be picked up by family members.
