26 May 2015 at 0952 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Barrow, Alaska.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported and transported two male hikers who felt like they were unable to continue their hiking trip.  The individuals were transported by helicopter to a safe location.  No injuries reported with this incident.
