02 July 2015 at 1822 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Sequoia National Park, California.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 63 year old male who had an accident on a hiking trip. The individual was transported by helicopter to a waiting ambulance that transported him to the nearest hospital where he was treated for unknown medical conditions.
