07 July 2015 at 1909 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Banff, Alberta, Canada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported individuals that were involved in a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. The individuals were transported by helicopter to an ambulance that transported them to the nearest hospital where they were treated for their injuries.
