26 August 2015 at 1845 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Valdez-Cordova, Alaska.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported two males suffering from exhaustion and dehydration while on a hiking trip. The individuals were transported by helicopter to the nearest hospital where they were treated for their condition.
