18 October 2015 at 0815 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Big Bend National Park, Texas.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a group of three individuals who became stranded due to losing one of their canoes on a river. The individuals were transported by helicopter to a secure location. No injuries reported with this incident.
