29 October 2015 at 1753 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in South Iceland.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and assisted four males who became immobile due to getting their motor vehicle stuck in a river. A SAR team assisted the group of individuals by helping them out of the river. No injuries were reported with this incident.
