18 January 2016 at 0302 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Carbon County, Wyoming.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and assisted three males who were stuck on a mountain and were unable to continue their trip. The individuals were escorted down the mountain to a secure location by a SAR ground team. No injuries were reported with this incident.
