10 February 2016 at 2328 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Quebec, Canada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a male who became immobile due to his broken down snowmobile. The individual was transported by a SAR team on snowmobiles to a secure location in the nearest town. No injuries reported with this incident.
