14 February 2016 at 0904 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in School Craft County, Michigan.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a female suffering from hypothermia while competing in a dog sled race. The individual was transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital where she received treatment for her condition.
