26 February 2016 at 0643 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Skjak, Norway.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported 13 individuals who were unable to continue snowshoeing due to severely bad weather. The individuals were transported by a SAR team on snowmobiles back to the hotel they were staying at. No injuries were reported with this incident.
