16 March 2016 at 1957 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in British Columbia, Canada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 35 year old female suffering from a lower leg injury caused by a snowmobile accident. The individual was transported by helicopter to the nearest hospital where she was treated for her injury.
