25 March 2016 at 1754 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in British Columbia, Canada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a male suffering severe injuries caused by a snowmobile accident. The individual was transported by a SAR team on snowmobiles to a waiting ambulance that transported him to the nearest hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.
