01 April 2016 at 1739 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Gilliam County, Oregon.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported an individual who dislocated their knee while hiking. The individual was transported by helicopter to the nearest hospital where he was treated for his injury.
