06 May 2016 at 1405 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in British Columbia, Canada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 46 year old male who began having heart problems while out hiking. The individual was transported by vessel to a waiting ambulance that transported him to the nearest hospital.
