16 June 2016 at 1948 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Sequoia Kings National Park, California.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a female sustaining unknown injuries caused by a fall while out on a hiking expedition. The individual was transported by helicopter to the nearest hospital where she was treated.
