17 June 2016 at 2330 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Southern Australia.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a male sustaining a broken leg caused by a motorcycle accident. The individual was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injury.
