26 June 2016 at 0404 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Nome, Alaska.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported two males who became stranded due to their malfunctioning ATV. The individuals were transported by helicopter to a secure location. No injuries were reported with this incident.
