27 June 2016 at 2106 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Okanogan County, Washington.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a male suffering from dehydration while out on a hiking expedition. The individual was transported by helicopter to the nearest hospital where he was treated for his condition.
