27 June 2016 at 2339 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in British Columbia, Canada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 29-year-old male suffering from a severe abdominal injury caused by a dirt bike accident. The individual was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injury.
