02 July 2016 at 1743 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Alberta, Canada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported an individual sustaining unknown injuries due to hitting a cow while riding a motorcycle. The individual was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where they were treated for their injury.
