22 July 2016 at 2223 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Toiyabe National Forest, Nevada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a female sustaining a back injury due to being struck by a rock while on a hiking trip. The female was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
