25 July 2016 at 2323 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in British Columbia, Canada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 56-year-old male who became stranded due to his malfunctioning dirt bike. The individual was transported by a SAR team on ATV’s to a secure location. No injuries were reported with this incident.
