05 August 2016 at 2131 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Bear Lake County, Idaho.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 40-year-old male sustaining a back injury caused by falling out of a tree while on a hiking trip. The individual was transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital where he was treated.
