12 August 2016 at 1738 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Idaho County, Idaho.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 78-year-male suffering from severe dehydration while out on a hiking trip. The individual was transported by helicopter to the nearest hospital where he was treated for his condition.
