04 September 2016 at 0218 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Jasper National Park, Canada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported two individuals who became stuck and unable to continue their hike. The individuals were transported by helicopter back to their vehicles. No injuries were reported with this incident.
