12 September 2016 at 1248 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Clifton, New York.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 50-year-old female sustaining severe abdominal pains while out on a hiking trip. The individual was transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital where she received treatment.
