04 November 2016 at 0021 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Haines, Alaska.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 48-year-old male sustaining an injured ankle caused by an accident while hunting. The individual was transported by helicopter to a nearby clinic where his injury was treated.
