05 November 2016 at 0313 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada.  IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and assisted two individuals that were unable to continue their hiking trip due to one of the individuals having asthmatic complications. The individuals were escorted by a SAR ground team back to their vehicle.
