27 February 2017 at 1724 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in Oregon. IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 25-year-old male who became stranded due to getting his vehicle stuck in the snow. The individual was transported by patrol vehicle to a secure location in the nearest town. No injuries were reported with this incident.
