14 March 2017 at 1752 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in the Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. IERCC personnel contacted the Grand Canyon National Park Dispatch and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a male in his fifties who suffered a fall. The individual was transported by helicopter to a secure location where an ambulance transported him to the nearest hospital for treatment for treatment of severe injuries.
