30 March 2017 at 2157 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a SPOT device in British Columbia, Canada. IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 28-year-old suffering a back injury while snowmobiling. The individual was transported by helicopter to a waiting ambulance that transported him to a nearby hospital where he was treated.
