7 April 2017 at 1411 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device off the coast of South Carolina. IERCC personnel contacted the U.S. Coast Guard District 7 and informed them of the activation. The U.S. Coast Guard responded to the location and towed a 41 year-old-male and his vessel to shore after the boat endured mechanical problems caused by a large wave. No injuries to report with this incident.
