24 May 2015 at 1730 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a DeLorme inReach device in Sequoia Kings National Park, California.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. Emergency personnel responded to the location and transported a female with severe altitude sickness.  The individual was airlifted by helicopter and transported to a nearby medical facility where she received treatment for her condition.
