10 June 2015 at 0214 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a DeLorme inReach device in British Columbia, Canada.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a male mushroom picker who suffered a heat stroke while working. The individual was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he received treatment for his condition.
