19 June 2015 at 0902 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a DeLorme inReach device in Fairbanks, Alaska.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported an individual who sustained a broken wrist and ribs while on a hiking trip.  The individual was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where they received treatment for their injuries.
