26 July 2015 at 0001 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a DeLorme inReach device in Lytton, British Columbia, Canada.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 16 year old male who sustained an ankle injury while on a hiking trip. The individual was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injury.
