07 September 2015 at 0037 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a DeLorme inReach device in Peace River, British Columbia, Canada.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported two 31 year old males who suffered severe injuries from a bear attack. The individuals were transported by airplane to the nearest hospital where they were treated for their injuries.
