03 April 2016 at 0037 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a Garmin inReach device in British Columbia, Canada.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a female suffering from a knee and hip injury caused by an accident while hiking. The individual was transported by a SAR team on ATVs back to her vehicle where she transported herself to the hospital.
