19 April 2016 at 1722 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from a Garmin inReach device in Summit County, Colorado.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 68 year old male sustaining a broken leg caused by a skiing accident. The individual was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injury.
