04 August 2016 at 0206 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in British Columbia, Canada.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 26-year-old male who began having respiratory problems while out hunting. The individual was transported by helicopter to a waiting ambulance that transported him to a nearby clinic where he was treated.
