16 August 2016 at 1922 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in British Columbia, Canada.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 70-year-old male sustaining a neck injury and other unknown injuries due to a mountain climbing accident. The individual was transported by helicopter to the nearest hospital where he was treated for his condition.
