17 August 2016 at 2317 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in Kittitas County, Washington.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 30-year-old female sustaining severe facial lacerations and an injured jaw caused by a fall while hiking. The individual was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her condition.
