31 August 2016 at 0302 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in Jackson County, Colorado.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 40-year-old male sustaining an injured ankle while out hiking. The individual was transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital where his injury was treated.
