31 August 2016 at 1625 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in Glacier National Park, Montana.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 53-year-old male who became very ill while on a hiking trip. The individual was transported by helicopter to the nearest hospital where he received treatment for his condition.
