21 September 2016 at 2101 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in Saguache County, Colorado.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 65-year-old male sustaining a leg and head injury caused by a fall while hiking. The individual was transported by helicopter to a waiting ambulance that transported him to a nearby hospital where he was treated.
