24 September 2016 at 1945 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in Mono County, California.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 51-year-old female sustaining an arm and ankle injury and a 51-year-old male suffering a head injury caused by a mountain climbing accident. The individuals were transported by helicopter to a waiting ambulance that transported them to a nearby hospital.
