24 October 2016 at 2322 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in Sequoia National Park, California.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and assisted three females who became very cold, fatigued, and unable to continue their hiking trip. The individuals were escorted down the mountain to the trail head by a SAR ground team.
